Tell us a little about yourself
I am an active person. I love biking, running, hiking, dog walks, kayaking, and camping. I’m a dog mom and work as a Probation Officer.
“My biggest accomplishment was completing my first marathon in 2019; which is what motivated me to continue training for others"
Tell us what motivates you the most.
I have always enjoyed the thrill of challenging myself and meeting goals. Each day I cover a further distance or better pace. The human body can withstand a lot, not just physically, but mentally… I like to test that theory.
Tell us about your exercise routine. What activities do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy running long distances and indoor/outdoor cycling. I run 6 days a week and strength train throughout. I like competing in races, so I’m typically always training for a particular distance. My biggest accomplishment was completing my first marathon in 2019; which is what motivated me to continue training for others…. I am currently in training for another October 2021.
Why do you exercise? Has your exercise changed due to quarantine from the past year?
I exercise for physical, as well as, mental health and strength. I didn’t allow the pandemic to effect my training. When gyms were closed due to the pandemic, I got creative with workouts and spent even more time outside. I was a conditioning coach for a middle school soccer team in the fall of 2020, which kept me active.
How do you stay motivated during quarantine?
During the pandemic, I didn’t slow down. I maintained working and training as I was before but without the help a gym. I believe that working out and running alone, is what kept me motivated. I love results and the way an elevated heart rate makes me feel.
What are your goals for the future?
Personal goals for me include running the Boston Marathon and complete a Triathlon (I need to perfect my swimming lol)
Who is your role model?
Steve Prefontaine and Lisa Bentley.
