Tell us a little about yourself
Hi, my name is Elijah Creech. I’m just your average 10-year-old, I enjoy playing Fortnite with my friends and other online activities right now since I can’t see them in person. I’m in the 5th grade, and really enjoying virtual school since I don’t have to wake up super early to do my treatments before school!
“I exercise to keep my lungs in great shape."
Tell us what motivates you the most.
My motivation to work out and be healthy is because it’s fun to me.
Tell us about your exercise routine. What activities do you enjoy doing?
I really enjoy playing baseball, tennis, archery, and hiking with my parents. I also work out using Ring Fit Adventure on the Nintendo Switch. I love to run and want to join the track team when life is back to normal.
Why do you exercise? Has your exercise changed due to quarantine?
I exercise to keep my lungs in great shape. My parents have always pushed me to be as healthy as possible, and that includes doing my treatments every day. Our routine has changed since our Little League season was cancelled due to Covid. I’ve had to do private baseball workouts with my dad since it’s not smart for us to gather in large groups. We’ve also hiked a lot more at our local state park, and my dad is trying to teach me how to play tennis properly.
How do you stay motivated during quarantine?
We stay motivated by reminding ourselves that this situation won’t last forever! When life does go back to normal, I don’t want to be behind in my athletics, so it’s important that we continue to put in the work even if it means we have to do it alone, or miss out on a season.
My parents also remind me that not getting physical activity can have impacts on my health, so it’s always important that we’re doing something daily.
What are your goals for the future?
I want to be a successful game streamer/YouTube when I get older. If that doesn’t work out, I want to be a beekeeper and run my own honey business.
